Blue and Green Laundry Room Ideas

Table of Contents

Hello fellow color enthusiasts! Let’s look at some wonderful blue and green laundry room ideas to get our creative juices flowing for your next room makeover! I’m an artist by day and love to paint in unique vibrant color palettes, so this is all just food for my soul!

Isn’t it a treat when good design just puts a big smile on your face? These designs push ordinary boundaries to help you realize that that there don’t need to be limiting design rules in a space such as the laundry room.

If laundry is a beat-down of a task, why not at least make the space fun and happy!

The Epitome of a Blue And Green Laundry Room

Creative Tonic

Ok, so I had to start with this one because it feels like the most spot-on example of a blue and green laundry room idea. And omg it’s so inspiring!

Perhaps most noteworthy is the unique exotic kelly-green and blue tile. Unfortunately, I was unable to source this, but if any of you out there know, send me a line!

I did stumble upon a cool line of “painted wood tiles,” which remind me what we are looking at here. It’s called Celerie Kemble hardwood tile which is carried at unique showrooms across the U.S. But these sources also include amazing and fun tile options.

Further information on some cool tile and hand-painted hardwood tiles can be found here.

Given that this is a laundry room, tile is most definitely a more realistic option, so stick on the tile floor plan due to potential water leaks!

Colored Cabinets and An Exciting Tile Floor

Although this inspiration is lacking in a true green, I included this example to illustrate that many different shades of blues and blue-greens, when combined together, make a wonderful final product!

The cabinet color is a warmer and earthier blue, paired with a pure cerulean blue and bright white tile. Actually, the mid-tone blue in the tile looks to be a very close match to the color cabinets.

Once again, I wish I had an amazing source for you on this tile floor, but I don’t!

These are a basic shaker front cabinetry with brushed nickel looking square-knob hardware. I’ve included a great hardware example that looks similar to what was used, here.

Hunter Green Cabinets Meet Ultramarine Blue Wallpaper: A Delicious Combo

For all of you traditional souls, this one is bound to tease the senses! I’m in love with the bold hunter green cabinets. The black granite countertops are a realistic option for a utility room such as this and the dark patina tile floors speak well with the counters!

Just as you may think that dark green and black would be too dark of a space, they brighten it up with the happiest ultramarine-blue palm wallpaper. I don’t have the exact source for wallpaper but a funky similar option is linked here.

Denim Blue Wallpaper and Light Blue Cabinets With a Hint of Greenery

Anne Pearson Design

A modern denim stripe wallpaper, probably via Schumacher, has made this laundry room traditional yet still updated. Hints of rattan and basketweave are great accessory pieces for this blue color-category.

The cabinets are very high end and here’s why. They are inset and set within the cabinet shell rather than hinged on top of the frame. Then, the shaker cabinet design has an elevated element to them with an extra beading. Little details like this are surprisingly not much more expensive, you just need to request them to your cabinet maker. If you would like more details on luxury cabinetry, I’ve discussed that in another article here.

Then, if you’re not sure how exactly to implement green into your laundry room, but you know you’re set on some blue elements, then just add a pop of fresh greenery!

Having Choice Paralysis? Here’s A Little Trick!

Blue and green laundry rooms can be obtained, more simply, if you settle on one color for some of the main elements and sneak in the other color with some smaller, replaceable items.

Aloha! That’s about what comes to mind when I see this happy laundry room! Are you in a tropical area? What a wonderful color palette this would be to imitate.

The butcher-block countertops inadvertently work as a complimentary color to all the cool aqua and mint colors. The darker colors in the floor anchor the room.

Here, we are exploring a simple design idea: Pick a fun pattern wallpaper in the blue or green color criteria, and then pull a cabinet paint color off of that one design piece.

Top off the rest of the room with warm gold hardware and a durable white quartz countertop.

Blue Gray Cabinets and Earthy Green Teal Floor Tile

My Design Chic

This is such a calming room. Perhaps if I could snap my fingers, I would choose this for my next laundry room? A very special detail in all this is the wicker front cabinet faces with shaker perimeter.

I’m not exactly sure what the white knobs are made of but they are subtle and perfect for the feminine flower-punch tile floor.

No expense was spared with creamy quartz counters (I’m guessing) and marble subway tile backsplash.

A final fitting detail is the bamboo weave window treatment that helps add an element of warmth and texture to many overlapping “hard” and potentially colder feeling materials.

I’d say this room is an A+ on design!

Citrine Green Walls and Pops of Cerulean Blue

Let’s pick apart this room and see what we can grasp that makes it stand out. Oftentimes, a set of three well framed photos or mini art pieces can be a fun detail oriented either horizontally or vertically. And they’ve utilized that here.

Three elements that talk well to each other are the teal garden stool, a patterned teal roman shade, and a teal poster in a high-end white frame.

All the walls, as well as the ceiling are painted a rich citrine green. I like that the ceiling is painted the same color as the walls to bring even more color into the space and avoid “visual interruption.”

Ok, here is a landry room to imitate! Wow on steroids! I have a treat for you and I’m sourcing some of the items used in this room if you so care to try and imitate.

Octagon Tile Floor

The green octagon tile is a really fun addition to the floor. I’ve linked an 8″ octagon tile option here. With a nit-picky eye, notice how mixing certain teals or greens with the varying shades of cabinets, flooring and wallpaper is A-OK!

Things do not need to be exactly matched but rather non-exact feels like it has a little more personality and a custom layered look. Then it isn’t trying to be too perfect. It’s relatable in a non-relatable sorta way haha.

However, I do realize that this laundry room is quite fabulous and we don’t all need something so wonderful to still make us happy with a simpler upgrade!

Hardware

If you’d like a great option for gold/brass traditional pulls, I’ve found a great option here. And might I add that it’s not worth trying to find a cheaper option because the amount of hardware you need in a laundry room is oftentimes limited, so just spend the extra $100 and the weight of the fancier option will be evident in everyday use.

Exact Light Fixture

And how great is this, I actually stumbled upon the exact light fixture used in this space. It’s from Bellacor and is super well-priced. It’s a three light bulb semi-flush mount light that can be found here.

All White With A Splash of Green & Blue on Tile Floor

Wow, I wish my laundry room was a neat as this. Instead, my laundry room also acts as a mud room and a catch-all for seasonal items and cleaning supplies. This setup is fabulous though, because it looks like there is plenty of storage for these things so they don’t have to be seen!

Do you have design paralysis on all these options? Well, here’s a great idea: Keep it simple in all white and add your pop of color to the floor! This is headache-free for design purposes, and it is also very cost effective.

Now, you can splurge on the laundry floor tile, since it’s your main item.

Finally, if you have the luxury to do so, imitate these shelves with some well-staged shelf decor. One example is three matching baskets and three “flour” canisters with easy fillers such as dryer balls and detergent packets.

Blue and Green Laundry Room With Coral Too!

I say blue and green, but really, these cabinets are an “aegean teal.” However, this laundry room still fits the bill in my book! Remember how many shades of blue and green there are. It only makes sense that a blue-green combo is another example to investigate for all our inspiration needs!

We can’t move past this laundry room without talking about the iconic center-medallion Oriental runner spanning the length of the space! This similar Oriental rug is not near as cool as the one pictured, but this website may have some viable options for you!

Pattern Teal & Blue Tile Backsplash For Laundry Room

Similar to our all white laundry room with a tile floor, this design concept works as a great alternative! Do you already have tile or laminate flooring that you don’t plan to replace? Perfect, then consider adding a pop of colorful tile to the backsplash of the room as they have done here.

Secondly, a framed art print goes a long way to say, ‘I care about my laundry room too.’

A Legendary Drum Shade Can Go A Long Way

Are you a fan of farmhouse-chic? Here you go! How cute is this? I’ve already pin-pointed a great replica for this green and white strip drum shade. It’s a little bit of a pricey option that could be worth the splurge or could be worth the DIY approach!

A chrome metal counter for the island is an unexpected pop. And it appears that the multi-colored faux wood floor is a laminate option.

Optimizing Your Space on a Budget

Ok all you dreamers out there, here is a realistic inspiration picture for all you who may have a smaller “laundry room budget,” than what has been shown. And that is perfectly fine! I happen to be in this category at the moment.

The wonderful thing about this room is that they have taken what they have and upgraded it with paint and tile.

A couple things that would greatly contribute to this space is a triptych of artwork on that wall and perhaps a mirror over the sink to mimic the idea of a window.

And then add a window treatment above the window, hung at the ceiling-line to give the illusion of taller ceilings.

Robins Egg Blue and Citrine Green Laundry Room

Lowes

What a happy blue and green laundry room for inspiration! If you’re already working with white cabinetry, like most of us, then tackle the walls with a Robin’s Egg Blue color.

Do you have any windows in your laundry room? Whether high or low budget, a cute cafe curtain goes a long way! Etsy is a fabulous option with many vendors who can make something custom for you. The prices will range from high to low and all you need to do is message a seller with the dimensions of your window and they can get you an approximate quote on cost.

Blue on Blue Laundry Room

Sometimes you can’t have enough blue. This laundry room had to be included in our list in case you are second guessing your color choices. Need an easy alternative? Do this: powder blue cabinets and a deep azul blue cement tile.

Finish off this look with ship-lap walls for a laid back modern farmhouse feel.

Blue and Green Laundry Room With a Pop of Red

The Good Life Blog

I’m having an epiphany. Many of these blue and green laundry room options are well accented with corals and reds. It’s a hint of the unexpected and they have pulled it off so well.

This vivid red light fixture is an amazing example. Furthermore, it’s something that could be obtained and DIY spray painted on a budget in case you later got tired of it!

Green Pendant Lights & A Blue Wallpaper Accent Wall = A Blue & Green Laundry Room

Last but certainly not least! I get the feeling that these homeowners needed a wonderful color pick-me-up to a blah neutral laundry room.

Ok, here’s a pretty great replica option for these neon green pendant lights! And although this isn’t the exact same blue leaves wallpaper, it’s a close second. The silver lining is that if you’re only doing one wall of wallpaper, you will need less and not need to be so concerned about cost. That being said, there are sometimes “minimums” on orders, so keep that in mind.

I hope you have enjoyed this curated collection of amazing blue and green laundry rooms and that you visit us again!
