Luxury Bathroom Cabinet Designs

Table of Contents

What makes an exquisite bathroom stand out from the rest? Luxury bathroom cabinet designs are the key. I’m going to take you step by step through each of these luxury bathroom photos to point out what makes them extraordinary.

Furniture Legs on Built-in Cabinetry

There are three stand-out features to this amazing bathroom cabinet design. First, are the tapered legs on this vanity cabinet. They are delicate and lend to a traditional, upscale style. I have tapered legs on many furniture pieces in my home and they are my absolute favorite.

Second, is the multi-depth cabinet structure. The main sink protrudes at, probably, a regular depth and the flanking side cabinet is less deep. This may have been chosen for space purposes. If your bathroom is limited on space, consider posing this design idea to your contractor.

Thirdly, are the gorgeous millwork designs on the face of each cabinet. Number one, this is unique and a fun twist on the ordinary. Two squares of trim work are applied to the flat cabinet face and they also are different thicknesses. For a cabinet maker, this is easy peasy and should not necessarily be much more of an added cost, so try it if you like it!

Arches Upon Arches Upon Arches

Did you notice that this mirror over the vanity is inset? Look closely. The original wall has been built forward to include a beautiful archway with medicine cabinets on the right and left. The mirror then mimics the shape of the archway.

Then, one more archway frames the bath tub area. But this isn’t a “bare”wall archway, the wall has been framed with casing and wood moulding.

Looking further, the vanity cabinets are inset. At least, this is the term I use to describe the fact that the cabinet faces are not sitting on top of the vanity frame, they are flush with the frame.

Lastly, notice the fine attention to detail that went into designing the “feet” of the vanity and the beautiful arches in between them. All these moments are the culmination of a work of art.

Luxury Bathroom Cabinet Designs: The Floating Vanity

What a gorgeous color contrast to have a marble or stone slab wall and counter next to a white-oak floating vanity. The floating aspect of the vanity creates a wonderful optical illusion to more space and a larger floor.

Secondly, the horizontal drawers mixed with vertical cabinets allow the unique hardware to make a dancing rhythmic design across the expanse of the vanity.

This is another stand-out option for luxury bathroom cabinet designs.

Details, details, details! How do we make ordinary spaces more extraordinary? With excellent millwork. (Millwork is woodwork design). Added layers of trim, a wainscot bath tub surround, beaded-drawer detail work. These are all added elements that make you stop and take a pause, and say wow!

But, if you don’t know to direct the design for them, then they will go un-added and your space can oftentimes fall flat. Secondly, notice the beautiful bevelled edge of the counter top.

Furthermore, instead of using furniture feet or just a simple toe-kick, this vanity is rooted and grounded into the space with a baseboard bottom. So instead of the vanity hang outward, the vanity sits with a beautiful baseboard in front of it.

The cabinet drawers are inset into the vanity but have a small millwork trim around each face. It is so subtle and eloquent.

Unique Cabinet Face Designs and Stair-Step Cabinet Feet

Whitney Clark Interiors

Ok guys… this is MY master bathroom and my designs! (Whitney Clark Interiors is kinda my side gig apart from being a full time artist during the day). It’s a passion of mine to create beautiful spaces and obsess over the details.

These cabinet designs are not from any exact picture that I saw, but rather, I designed them using about three different details that I knew I wanted to incorporate.

First, I designed the stair-step feet, with a piping trim.

Secondly, I had seen the “cross” looking cabinet-face design, but not in the double beveled edge that I wanted. So, I had to clarify this with my cabinet guy.

Lastly, I wanted all the cabinets to be “inset” with a “piping” perimeter. Now, these are MY lingo words and kind of the best I can do at describing it, without looking up the actual cabinet terms.

Then, the coolest part is that our cabinet guy made one trial, cabinet-face to see if he had gotten one aspects of these designs correct.

Apart from that, I had to utilize pictures of each different step that I wanted. And I sketched out the whole cabinetry to show him where I wanted the cross-face designs to be incorporated. Was this perfect? No. But the cool thing about cabinet makers and creative sub-contractors in this industry is that they are surprisingly good at working with imperfect designs.

Although we did have a cad drawing made for measurement purposes, the cad did not include the exact cabinet designs. That’s where I came in!

Boy did all the patience and waiting pay off! Good design is worth it! Every time I walk in this bathroom, I’m so happy and also glad to know that I designed every aspect of our master bath. It’s rewarding to take chances and think outside the box and have it all come together in the end.

Luxury Bathroom Cabinet Designs: X-Face Cabinet & More

Moving forward, we have another great inspiration photo for luxury bathroom cabinet designs. I see my favorite tapered leg as if this is a furniture piece. There are distinct piping details around each cabinet face as well as extra square details on the frame of the vanity.

Next, is a unique x-design on the face of the cabinets with a small circle in the middle. This helps us know where to look and draws in our eye.

Lastly, there is a cased-arched-opening to hi-light the bath tub space. An adorned cased opening helps say, ‘Look, here is another beautiful area that you are moving to.’

One of the first thing that stands out to me about this luxurious bathroom is the inset mirror cabinet faces in the two storage towers. Furthermore, they have gorgeous trim details over them in the shape of a cross, but with a decorative circle in the center.

Another unique characteristic about these luxury cabinets are the accentuated tapered feet that extend all the way up to the counter. They protrude in front of the cabinet face and are a really cool millwork detail.

Lastly, but definitely not least! This bathroom has a beautiful subtle reoccurring arch. The arch spans the bottom of the main vanity and then mimics the same cut as a beautiful arch spanning across the top of the mirror.

Let’s talk about how the mirror has become adorned through the millwork. Two cabinet towers are placed on either side of the mirror and instead of those floating straight up to the ceiling, they are connected through the arch. It reminds me of a romantic bridge over a creek.

The cabinets have a simple trim square outlining each cabinet face to give it a wonderful traditional feel.

This concludes our luxury bathroom cabinet designs.
