Simple Wood Pieces To Form A Graphic Wall Pattern

Family Handyman

Are you itching to upgrade your mid-century modern interior? This graphic wall design is just the thing to add an extra layer of interest where it is least expected. The wood pieces are easily found at your nearest Home Depot or Lowes.

It will also be worth having an electric saw handy to make these cuts. Some are flat and some will be cut at 45 degrees. It could get a bit technical, but nothing a handy wood-craftsman could not handle!

This is an astoundingly beautiful textile. The combination of three distinct colors keeps it vibrant and interesting. The first thought that comes to mind is to go to a local antique show or outdoor arts-market. This seems to be where you could find a true deal on an Indian or Asian textile.

Keep it simple Sally. Sometimes less is more. And in this diamond-pattern wall, the over-sized diamond pattern truly does the trick! Also, you can add an unexpected pop of color and your work will be complete.

Stairwell Design of Vintage Artwork or Replica Vintage Artwork

Better Homes & Gardens

At first glance, you may think you could never accomplish this look on a budget. But you can! When I look at it, I see several duplicate art pieces. And that tells me that the homeowner simply purchased these old art prints online on something as simple as Etsy or Art.com in the prints section! Sort and filter with the lowest price and by landscape, and you could accomplish this same look.

I also like how they are all on a blank white wall, allowing all their colors to pop. Add a few mismatched, simple wooden frames and it will create this exact look.

Stunning 20 Piece Botanical Framed Installation

Farrow and Ball

This is one of my favorites. It is fail-proof. One thing that I appreciate is that the white of the paper is antique white. And also, surprisingly, these botanical prints are just black and white! Yet, they still appear interesting.

Wall of Colorful Plates Wall Design

This is a great DIY wall design hack. Some of these plates are special and unique. And plenty of them are basic as well. Some white plates are used too! All you need to do is order a variety of sized plate hangers on Amazon to accomplish this look. I bet you even have a few plates in your pantry for such use.

The second action-item would be to go to a thrift store or antique store to find those few pieces of intrigue to complete the look.

Affordable Shelf Hack, Doubles as Wall Design

Do you have the determination to create a wall-shelving system such as this?

First, consider painting your wall a pop of color. This color could be the opposite color of what is being put on your shelves. Perhaps it could be a warm color, if you have plants and blues/greens to put on your shelf? Or maybe it could be a lighter shade of green so the darker objects popped against it.

Wooden Wall Design in Entryway

Thrifty and Chic

A picture says a thousand words. If you feel daunted in accomplishing this look, make sure to print out a picture of this to give to your wood craftsman, or visit Thrifty Chic blog for tips and tricks to how they pulled this off!

The white on white, mixed with warm wood tones, as well as pops of green is such a pleasing combination!

Decorative Brass Cookware Hangs to Create Wall Design

Eat Well 101

Sometimes I ask myself, what is it about this image that sparks such a positive response? For one, I love the deep green on the shelves. Secondly, the red stove and the red rug create an equally visceral reaction.

Lastly, the rhythm added to this kitchen space comes in the form of these redundant, hanging, kitchen pots and skillets. Don’t forget that repetition adds action and interest to a room. Duplicates of something or even 3-5 items in a row or column always adds a punch of fun!

Descending Platters on Wall Add Perfect Blue Accents to Room

On that same concept, three unmatched blue platters are such a great idea for a taller space where you cant quite seem to find the right kind of artwork!

Straw Hats Wall Design – Easy Affordable Wall Design

This image came out of a Vogue editorial. It is so fun and I also loved how anyone can replicate and accomplish this look. Yet, it is very purposeful and tasteful!

If you don’t have a taller item of interest to replace the far right wicker face/bodice, then try a lamp!

Framed Suzani Textile Adds Drama to Mud Room

I eww and awww when I get to this picture! I know some people currently bypass red/orange as a color option when decorating their space. But don’t! How often do you utilize greens and mosses?! Include your reds and corals.

Now, if you haven’t already learned this the hard way, framing can be expensive!

But, if you want to try and frame a large textile more cheaply, perhaps try adhering the piece to a large custom-sized foam board, and then just attaching 4 pieces of wood-frame lengths to the sides. And skip the glass overlay! This could do the trick.

Yardstick Design DIY Wall Hack

This is a fun and growing trend. It is affordable and give viewers a great second glance! Although I do not have a step by step ‘How-To,’ for this, there are several instructional videos out there. Try, “yardstick wall installation.”

This photo immediately captured my attention! Can we just talk about how the restaurant scene can oftentimes be lacking in show-stopping decor? Just remember, it doesn’t always have to be expensive!

This “yardstick” wall design took hanging gardens to the next level. They say green gives you life. Well, this wall makes me very happy!

Adorable Column of Badminton Racquets Create Intrigue of Headboard

Lastly, to all those old souls out there, this is for you (and me)! Why do I always stop and smile at an “Ode to the past?” This makes me nostalgic, mostly because my grandparents truly had a badminton course in their backyard, sitting on one acre in Green-Acres, Kentucky!

I hope this post sparked some creativity and imagination for you to tackle your next wall design project! Happy decorating!
