Spanish Modern Interior Design

Table of Contents

Spanish Modern interior design is a highly sought after design aesthetic! I am jealous of anyone who is embarking on their new home project within this niche. We will go through some visuals and key points that make up a modern Spanish interior. Hopefully, this will give you ideas and details on how to move forward on decorating your home-space!

Maintaining Arches Throughout The Home

You may ask yourself if arches are still in style. Don’t think of it like that. But think of it like, ‘How do I update these existing arches?’ You do not want to remove the existing Spanish interior, but you do want to modernize it!

The best way to go about this is to paint the interior arched-windows black. (See visual above). This will quickly give you that pop you’re looking for and striving for in these updated Spanish style homes.

Secondly, make sure your walls are that wonderful warm white. Then you can give all the attention to the various materials you will be incorporating and they can have the spotlight!

Dark Wooden Beams Mixed With Iron Fixtures

This dining room feels authentically Spanish for a lot of reasons. But I love the combination of the iron chandelier with the dark beams. If a handful of the dining room pieces changed, but these stayed the same, I think those two details would help drive this space to stay a modern Spanish interior design.

Mixing Natural Wood Tones Into The Space

This gorgeous kitchen is instantly warmed up by the natural wood chairs and the coordinating natural bit of wood that accents the vent hood. I have attached a similar link to these stools here, if you wish to get this look!

Minimalist Nature Tones For Master Bedroom

Without fail, I usually observe Spanish Modern master bedrooms to be simple on decor, but strategic on material and colors! The colors are usually subdued earth tones. Khaki’s, creams and whites anchor the room with a hint of color. Mid-tone woods, live plants and somewhat industrial accents are often used against interior white stucco, or stone.

Use of Gorgeous Patterned Tile

What separates a spec home from expertly designed and cultivated home? Details. The devil is always in the details. Never settle for what a builder hands you. Stretch the parameters. Request things that aren’t easy to accomplish. Have the patience to wait and to push for the added level of craftsmanship needed.

In this case, the master bathroom does not disappoint! At first thought, a homeowner or spouse may say, ‘Tile everywhere? Wont that be overkill?’ (I get that from my husband all the time!) The point is, the greatest luxury spaces are usually over-the-top on detail.

I simply LOVE the fact that this gorgeous blue mosaic tile has been used on both the floor and the entire backsplash wall of the vanity. Then, the surrounding walls of white can balance out this special moment.

True to the Spanish tradition, the floors and walls are covered in tile. Spanish Modern interior design is implemented perfectly into this space!

This space is distinctly Spanish modern via the darker stained floors combined with the warm-stained-ceiling beams. And YES, great news is that the floors and the beams do not have to match in stain color. Quite often, these are separate colors help add more dimension of wood-tone into the space.

In order to avoid being modern-rustic-farmhouse, continue adding pops of black detail. Iron and brass are commonly welcomed elements too. These will help push the space to be ‘Modern-Spanish.’

Here is one more visual of a breakfast room leading into a kitchen. The various dark wood tones, mixed with white, are great. But, the variety of green plants is what help warm and liven it up.

Modern Bed-frame, Warm Wood Tones, Pops of Black

This room feels “Modern Spanish,” due to the incredibly curated Southwest-Pueblo print, blog with a fringe bed throw, pops of graphic black and the rattan light fixture. Top all this off with crisp-white walls, and you’ve created that Spanish-modern combination.

Neutral Wood Tones, Blacks Accents and Warm Colored Textiles

This space is spot on for Spanish modern interior design. I believe I have seen this natural wicker storage piece at either Anthropologie or Urban Outfitters. Oriental or Oushak rugs can be found for good deals on Etsy. And back to the black accents! Black, mixed with a white base (i.e. walls and tile) is a good starting point. Then, mix in all the details which really give a true feel for the space! Plant stands and even faux plant can help warm up any bathroom. Think Home Goods!

Sleek Furniture Including Rich-Walnut-Woods, Whites, Blacks

I want to draw attention to these sleek outdoor sofas! When mixed alongside modern elements and a nice fringe pillow, this really feels Spanish Modern. Sometimes, if you can splurge on just one thing, the other pieces will have good replicas for less. I say – splurge on these outdoor sofas!

This concludes out survey of Spanish modern interior design. I hope it helps!
