Happiest Cabana Bar Design: Red White & Blue, We Choose You!

It was this very image that sparked such creative juices in me to go on a search for all kinds of cabana bar designs. I’m going to need to stow them in my back pocket until I come up with a good “squirrel fund” to be able to have one built.

Before we get to the red, white and blue, let’s talk about the tone on tone whites. I look up at that beautiful bone-ivory textured straw roofline and I can’t get enough. Am I the only one? Couple that beautiful off white with a pure titanium white and we have a match made in heaven.

Next, why does it feel exclusive to tropical locales that we have mural tile walls? These beautiful scenes need to be brought straight to our backyards, stat! It looks like palm leaves and whimsical ivy stems, yet in a wonderful cobalt blue and white color scheme. Then, this tile work is carried through to the backsplash behind the bar shelves.

The next stroke of genius, happy cherry red chairs with coordinated blue and white striped cushions!

Working With White Textures

What a brilliant little roof extension from the house to create an amazing cabana. I like how the roof is somewhat oversized to make you feel more cozy under the covering. (Sometimes barstools are just barely under the covering).

Another well executed design detail is that the interior of the roof is all painted white. We aren’t for lack of color since the home itself is a saturated blue/green and there is luscious landscaping around.

Another mental note, walnut colored wood looks fantastic with bright whites and gray. This is in reference to the bar stools. The gray tiled patio is brilliantly lined with a darker tone of grays to help separate the patio form the hardscaping.

Lastly, an elevated cluster of flowers acts as a book-end to the end of the bar. I love how two pots sit on the ground and the largest pot is in a plant holder a few inches off the ground. Multiple height differences create wonderful interest when it comes to plants.

The Secret Sauce: Terra-cotta Stained Concrete

The first thing that I love that catches my eye is this terra-cotta, stained concrete. Directly abutting it is deep, almost hunter green grass. It is perfectly planted around original gray color concrete squares. That’s cool how they have mixed both color stained concrete and non stained, yet nothing feels unfinished about it.

It looks as if there is a terrazzo stone bar and somewhat matching gray upholstered bar stools.

One other detail that may slip your eye is the bright aqua ceiling of the cabana that perfectly matches an outdoor dining set nearby. Don’t miss those small opportunities to add a fun unexpected detail.

Elevated Indoor Outdoor Living: Steel & Glass Garage Door Opens To Outdoor Bar

Talk about seamless indoor-outdoor living, this is it! This industrial glass and steel garage- door-like mechanism is on another level. Raw patina’d wood flanks all sides of the exterior with an extra large concrete-like counter that spans from deep inside the home and also to the outside.

The bar stools look extra custom with tan and white striped fabric on a black steel base. Another wonderful little touch is a large bowl of soft green florals sitting on a lazy-susan. This adds just the pop of color we need among more earthy tones.

Create Your Color Scheme Beforehand

This is an award-winning, sophisticated color scheme to blend in to the other elements of nature. Deep charcoal latticework is seen in the background while the main cabana edifice is a collection of the “perfect-greige” along with teak wood and creams.

Secondly, the flag stone carries an elevated look in the sense that it’s mostly all one color. I love this because it feels well planned out with the rest of the design scheme. Had the flag stone been multiple shades, maybe it would take away from all the purposeful moments in the cabana.

The counter may be some form of slate or stone surface, yet it’s rimmed with a friendly, matching wood trim that talks well with the bar stools.

This is a sophisticated cabana bar design, and it has all the elements that beckon me to come sit. I say job well done!

A Caban Bar Design With A Mexican Tiled Ventahood

Are you a Texan? Well, I am and proudly so! This cabana bar design feels like you’re on vacation at a Texas Hill Country resort. It’s homey, it’s warm and well, It’s Texas.

The spectacular ventahood is just the splurge needed to help this space pop. So, was the investment worth it? Absolutely. Oftentimes, us Texans like to give a subtle nod to our neighbors in Mexico. I bet this a a uniquely, fired ceramic tile from just South of the border.

Visually, this variety of Austin stone, travertines and creams counters seem to blend together, but what a perfect interior roof moment in this rich espresso brown! The roof along with the iron chandelier help to anchor this look. They also give us little bit of a caste-like feel and I’m sure there is an extra large edifice somewhere in the distance. 😉

Ceramic Spanish Patterned Tiles And A Pop of Fun Without Breaking The Bank

Just so you know, Ceramic Spanish floor tile is such a fail proof method to create an interesting pattern on your cabana bar design. Is your space amenable to black, gray and white pattered tile? Maybe there is also room for this as a backsplash to the upper bar shelves?

The next PERFECT compliment to all the neutral colors is the pop of orange. Good news for you, I’ve sourced a pretty good replica for these orange-metal bar stools. Now, they may seem pricey, but sometimes the most particular design detail that finishes a look is the one that is worth paying for.

Dolly Parton Themed Bar: Irresistible Inspiration For You Pink Lovers!

Now, you may be wondering if I included this inspiration on purpose. YES, I DID! Maybe you came to this article looking for the unexpected. Well, I’m a firm believer that the unexpected is the spice of life. And yes, you could easily transport this design scheme to your outdoor cabana-bar space.

For me, if I came across pool-blue tile, magenta barstools, a bar-top rimmed in gold and powder pink cabinetry as the backdrop, YES, I’d be there to stay! But, would the hubby approve this design? That’s a really good question.

Lastly, the cherry on top is the multi-color overflowing, flower centerpiece. Throw in a mirror backsplash to make sure all the cool people can keep their hair in place and their lipstick replenished 😉

Espresso, Walnut, White & Blue : Cabana Bar Design, I Choose You!

Next up, white stucco, sigh. Something about this fresh scene transports me to Mexico. A reoccurring design element I am seeing is the focal point of the foot space by the bar stools. There is always a wonderful pattern to catch your eye.

Secondly, the cabana pergola roof is a tedious work of art. Slender pieces of carefully aligned wood add a cool rhythm to the space.

Lastly, the patio chairs look very comfy and welcoming and the warm wood finish matches that of the diamond pattern at the bar. These subtle details help your eye connect the dots and our brains like to do that! Another tip, always use a chair that someone just has to sit down in. Sometimes chairs don’t welcome us and they should.

More and more, I am seeing a gorgeous Azul colored countertop. And I’m loving every minute of it. This pool cabana design carries a hint of asian origin, simply because the counter height is lower than normal, as if we get to watch the barista mix drinks and make us food (Benihanna’s style).

Transitional Meets Modern

The beautiful brick here has been laid in three different patterns! Brick style, chevron and parque, in three different areas. What attention to detail! I love the gray concrete counter and the modern aspect of that coupled with the traditional white columns and simple white roof.

A modern and sleek fireplace is situated behind with some welcoming coral accent pillows! Because there are so many mixed materials at this outdoor bar, the barstools don’t need to be very elaborate. Their simplicity will does the job.

This is a cool cabana bar design because it’s a modern spin on a probably traditional space. I’m very inspired by all the textures and materials used!

Was there something in this line-up that spoke to you? I sure hope so. I definitely know I will be referencing this list when it comes time for us to build our future cabana!
