This color is a deep green that definitely leans toward the taupe / neutral category. It is not often lumped into the deeper grays. Rather, it stands in the deep green category. It’s complexity is beautiful in the category of greens, because it is not too flamboyant of a green.

This is the mystery and enigma of paint. When it is wet, or when it has a different sheen (i.e. level of gloss) it will look differently. It’s hard to say exactly how it will be different. That depends on the color. Both light and dark colors of paint will look lighter in the can, when they are wet. They will both dry darker.
Depending on where you use these light or dark colors will determine how the paint color finally appears.
Case in point, don’t judge the paint from when you first pop the lid. Paint a sample board of two coats and let it dry before making a judgement call. Then hold up that sample board in different lights, inside and outside. Outside should be viewed in shade and sun. Inside should be viewed in can lights and lamp lights and with natural window light and none.

Furthermore, different textures will show paint colors in a different way. More than likely, this Behr Incognito was painted on a wicker piece of furniture and the picture was taken inside with less natural light. Yet, when I look down at the exterior color of Incognito, shown below, it appears so much lighter since there is so much natural light outside.
This concludes that if you are deciding on a paint color for the exterior of your home, you can get away with a darker color than you would think, because the amount of light exposure will lighten up the color.
Craftsman Style Bungalow: Exterior Paint Color
Behr Incognito paint color is a great exterior paint choice for a craftsman-style, bungalow home. (See below). This deep, earthy green-gray blends excellently with nature and is soothing to the eye.
Behr ‘Incognito’ is Not Ideal for Mediterranean Style Stucco Homes
The Spanish-Mediterranean style of home is not one that needs a dark earthy color as shown in Behr Incognito. Mediterranean homes were meant to have light and bright exteriors to reflect rightly alongside the gleaming ocean that was so often nearby.
So, if you have a stucco home, don’t choose this color, but rather, move to the tan and creamy white categories!

The darker color shutters compliments this exterior color better and creates a stronger contrast to the eye. Oftentimes, we are more visually drawn to house paint colors when the shutter is at least slightly darker than the exterior color.
When the shutter is lighter than the exterior body color, the final product can fall flat.
