You can take a sigh of relief! I have done some extensive leg work to find you exact Behr craftsman exterior colors for your next paint project! And included are the pictures and examples of these craftsman style homes to help you move forward with confidence.
Behr Forever Denim
The brilliant choice in this craftsman style house paint-scheme is their commitment to red, white and blue! “Forever Denim,” paint by Behr, is the main blue exterior color and I love to see elements of the original brick in the steps and chimney! A creamy white trim helps meld the earthy blue with the warm red, but still not be too cliche.
Behr Pencil Point
I have to give “This Old House,” a round of applause. Their projects exude excellence and this is most assuredly one of them. “Pencil Point,” this exterior paint color, by Behr, looks like a gorgeous deep charcoal gray with definite deep green undertones. Yet the overall color still has some blue in the gray too. Ugh that’s confusing, but colors are complex!
A nice modern touch to this home is the dark black trim on the windows. That is a fun twist that we don’t always see on more classical style craftsman homes because they weren’t necessarily going for modern.
Behr Smoky Mountain
We will see a trend in this list of Behr craftsman exterior colors that many are in the blues and greens color category. Nothing wrong with that. These homes blend with nature in more ways than one, it makes sense their color palettes would do so too!
This “Smoky Mountain,” paint by Behr, looks several shades lighter than the first option of “Pencil Point,” from This Old House project.
One of my favorite parts of this home is the inclusion of the cigar brown colored shingles toward the pitch of the roof because it looks so pretty next to the “Smoky Mountain” exterior color by Behr.
Behr Hunter’s Hollow
This feels like a serene, softer option for a blue/green/gray. It seems to have a perfect ratio of all three colors. Definitely one to get a sample of and make a paint board for helpful viewing!
Behr Nature’s Gift
I just love this color as well as its appropriate title! ‘Nature’s Gift’ because this color is a gift and replication of nature. A muted green-gray that leans blue rather than warm mossy. Why not?
Behr Intellectual
This color palette feels timeless. It is dramatic yet crisp. And that is all one could really ask for in a craftsman style home. The deeply stained wood door is also a beautiful central focal point. All this house needs is the bright white trim to help separate the dark door from the rest of the exterior.
Behr Zinnia Gold
We can never leave out a good yellow exterior of a house. Now, I know this isn’t craftsman style (it’s more like Victorian) but I bet you can still visualize! Need a little extra happy in your life and for your neighbors? Maybe you need a yellow house 🙂
Secondly, notice the fresh update to the concrete porch steps with white and gray variating colors! These are fabulous color compliments to yellow.
Behr Sweet Chamomile
Need one more yellow exterior paint option? Behr Sweet Chamomile just welcomes you inside this craftsman home. If you want a more lemon-toned, cool and fresh yellow, here is one great option for you!
Behr Hush
Now, I know this isn’t a craftsman style house, yet I know this would be a perfect color scheme for your next light and bright craftsman-house paint-upgrade! This color palette is just what you need if you want to be the next fresh thing that landed on your street! Oftentimes bright white, gray and yellow are linked together because they are appealing to the eye.
“Hush” gray Behr paint color is proving to be a perfect neutral gray, and light enough to feel fresh and bright without any strange undertones (especially pink) peeping through!
Behr Sawgrass
Oftentimes, two colors within the same (green) color family can be a great game plan for craftsman style home exteriors. Unlike some of the previous examples, the trim on this house is darker than the body of the house. But it works wonderfully, and especially with a medium walnut brown color for the windows and door!
Behr Simply Sage
This is similar to the paint color ‘Sawgrass,’ from the example before this one. If you are going for this neutral green-gray look, then paint both ‘Sawgrass’ and ‘Simply Sage’ on separate display boards (found at Walmart or Walgreens) and then hold them side by side in various areas of the outside of your house.
This easy comparison of two colors will help you see the subtle differences in them and choose what you like best. Both are subtle and beautiful and you can’t go wrong!
Behr Grizzly
Take notice, this example is not exactly “Grizzly” by Behr, it is my estimated guess! I found this house and thought the paint colors were executed wonderfully. But I could not find the exact exterior paint details. Hopefully this guess is enough to get you started and you can adjust the saturation as needed
The first and most important step to verify this color is to order a sample of this and paint a large “display board,” that you can pick up from any convenience store, grocery or Walmart. Then, you can walk around to the front of your house and the sides and back, to see this paint in various shades of light to decide if you like it.
Lastly, verify with your paint distributor, the right level of sheen you want in your final order. That, or your painter will know what is most desirable with your style home and this shade. I would not suggest, ‘flat.’ Even something as subtle as eggshell or satin will give your home exterior a fresh, new and updated feel.
Behr Dark Navy
This example is just too fun to pass up! “Orange Burst” is the exact color trim for the windows and the front door. I don’t have the exact deep navy blue but I know there are some good recommendations out there — one being “Dark Navy,” by Behr. Instead of being a green/navy, this is a more purple navy with seeming red undertones.
Behr Starless Night
I stumbled upon another blog that talked about their updated painted exterior with this perfect navy blue, with earthy green undertones, “Starless Night.” And what a great final product! The traditional home is just one more example with this color to help give you a broader idea.
Behr Incognito
More Behr craftsman exterior colors, coming right up! This house is pretty awesome. At first glance you don’t even notice the natural color stone on the bottom portion of the house because the paint color “Incognito” by Behr is so spot on perfect.
Behr Urban Safari
The house’s color example is included in this list because it has your typical craftsman color scheme on a traditional home. So, I figure this is helpful enough in giving you a visual that you could easily transfer over to your craftsman house.
Behr In The Moment
“In the Moment” was Behr’s color of the year, for 2018, so we had to include this visual for you! It’s the main body color of this house and is so happy. The colors of this porch remind me of a quaint color combo we could see at a beach house in Seacrest, Florida. And yet, it’s pulled off on a craftsman style house too!
Behr Scotland Road
Thanks to This Old House, we have the exact Behr craftsman exterior colors for this house. What a calming collection of colors that welcome you right to the front door! Did we ever think they would throw in a warm yellow for the windows and door? It wasn’t my first thought, yet it’s perfect!
Behr Aubergine
This craftsman style house vividly pops against it lush green backdrop. It’s not your most commonly seen color combo, yet it’s pretty fabulous. I couldn’t find the exact exterior paint color, but I did my best to find a Behr color for you to try, at least as a sample!
If I were to explain this color, I’d say, “Eggplant meets chocolate and had a baby!” So next time you’re trying to explain which house is yours, you have a little tag line 😉
Behr Submarine Gray & Off White
This house is somewhat quirky, but isn’t that what lot’s of Craftsman homes are about? They dare to not blend in and therefore we love them so!
Have you been thinking you would like to go navy in your exterior? Perhaps you are a Notre Dame fan with navy and gold! Well, this home is fun and historic looking and appropriate.
Behr Coastal Storm
Last but not least is this contemporary beauty! This home is in Orange County, California. When trying to come up with exterior paint colors for you house, a trio of this complexity is hard to just dream up without a good visual! Are you wanting contemporary with a craftsman flair? This Behr combination of paint colors may be the right one for you!
